Greenbelt Buffer Project
Preserving and enhancing Sawgrass Subdivision’s natural landscape
The following pictures are just a few examples of the Greenbelt Buffer Project along Interstate 57 and 72. This is a collaborative project with the Champaign Neighborhood Services Department to create a buffer between the interstate and the subdivision. The project includes planting conifers, native trees, shrubs, and prairie plants to create a natural screen and enhance the beauty of the subdivision.

Native prairie plants were planted in a 40′ mulched area along the interstate to provide a natural buffer and habitat for local wildlife.
